Meet the Agent
My name is Tazeen I. Qudsi and I am the owner and founder of 703-INSURED, an independent insurance agency licensed in property and casualty and life insurance in the states of VA, MD and DC.
While I began my agency at a young age, at 24 this was my third business venture. I was privileged to be brought up in an amazing family, with inspirational role models all around me who valued education, religion and moral upstanding above all else. So for me hard work, honesty and integrity come as second to nature. I inherited my drive from my father who showed me throughout my life that no matter what happens, giving up is not an option. He taught me by example the meaning of unwavering dedication to doing what’s right, and having the patience to wait for it to fall into place.
I started my career in a retail business I owned, and sold real estate right out of high school, while managing to make the Dean’s list in college. In any business venture I made it my business to make myself an expert in the industry and quickly excel my production. This attribute won me many top producer awards, and it’s what caught the attention of a recruiter from a big name insurance company.
A few weeks later I was accepted to become an agency owner and was waiting to attend my starter training. It was during this period that, per habit I began researching everything I could about the industry and how it works. As I delved deeper into the wide industry of insurance, two key questions were nagging me at the back of my mind. Why would I as a customer want to go to an agency that is limited to one company’s products to offer, just because they run a lot of tv commercials? And naturally the second question was, why aren’t there more independent agencies out there with outstanding service telling the public about the gold mine they have inside their office?!
I called Tim over at “lots of commercials on tv” company and told him I have to respectfully decline his offer to own a captive agency.
That’s when I set out to become an independent agent. Like anything else I’ve done, it wasn’t easy and I had to convince my first few carriers to take a chance on me. Once they met me and saw what I had planned, they were willing to dive right in. I’m so grateful that they did. And so are they.
Since I opened the doors of my agency in late 2009, I’ve been able to help thousands of clients better their insurance experience, and have won several awards from my partner companies and in recognition of our top rated customer service.
And I’m not done yet. I plan to bring the best method of getting insurance to the entire tri-state region, and refuse to stop until every person in our area is 703-INSURED.
